Where Churchill smoked his cigars

No sports and always a cigar in his hand – that is how the most famous visitor to the "Casino in the Park" is remembered by many people today: Sir Winston Churchill.
However, he was not the only person of worldwide renown to pay a visit to the Friedrich-Heinrich-Allee. The Duke of Windsor and his wife were here, as well as Sir Allanbrocke, General Simpson, Montgomery and Eisenhower to name but a few of the many famous individuals who esteemed the Casino to be a meeting place in keeping with their rank.
Following its renovation in 1988, when the rooms were reorganized and refurnished, the Hotel Casino, with its seventeen single and seven double rooms, opened its doors once again for visitors from all over the world enjoy to its comforts.
The parquet floors, stucco ceilings and oak paneling have not taken any of the charm of bygone days from the Casino's rooms.
In the park, which is a national monument, there is cozy beer garden inviting you to rest when your work is done.
The hotel has won quite a reputation for itself among trade fair visitors from Cologne and Duesseldorf thanks to its friendly service, and large companies often reserve the entire hotel for their meetings.
